Dale Seiberling passed away at the age of 94 on Saturday, May 1, 2021 peacefully at the Kendal At Granville senior living community, in Granville, OH, after a short period of declining health. At the time of his death, Dale was Vice President and a Board Member of Electrol Specialties Company (ESC), where he has been actively involved with innovation for hygienic design of CIP and process systems for the dairy, food, pharmaceutical, and specialty chemical industries for more than 50 years.
Referred to by many as the “father of CIP,” Dale began his career in 1955, where he was an instructor while completing his graduate studies at The Ohio State University. He then became an engineering consultant to develop and commercialize automated dairy processes integrated with Clean-In-Place (CIP), and subsequently carried that technology to many other industries that benefitted from the increased product quality resulting from cleanable and hygienic design.
